We have milk paint powder in Barn Red in stock, where 2.5 oz (half cup) will do the outside of our Tool Box project (approx 0.9 m² ) with 2 coats

The finish on the picture shown is with an Oil finish over the paint (Danish oil as an example), this creates a lustrous deep blue when combined with the milk paint, and although the paint is a tough finish in itself, the oil protects the surface from water marks and fingerprints. 

As in originally produced homemade milk paint, we use milk protein, lime, clay, and earth pigments such as ochre, umber, iron oxide, lampblack, etc. The lime is alkaline but becomes totally inert when mixed with the slightly acidic milk. We use no lead, no chemical preservatives, and no fungicides. Milk paint contains no hydrocarbons or any other petroleum derivatives.
